i like the retroesque instrumentation @ start.
aside from that its a bit loud its a enjoyable little piece.
I also always enjoy the chord progressions you throw around. :)

Sound a bit like a Mellotron :))
Thanks for review.
brilliant panned trio's etc.
If you were a woman i would definately abduct you to my villain island underground base place house basement room.
One tip btw: try to when you pan stuff on the left like at the end of the track, to counterpan some sounds on the right to make it sound a bit more full.
I have no criticism anyway. Favoriting aswell cause 1: its 87654321bit and 2: its manly and 3: its alot like megaman and 4: 8bit megamans face is manly.
Instrumentation is ok but
You really, really need to work on your melody, its really really bad.
The melody goes nowhere, meets no harmony, has no emotion to it whatsoever and thus in no way is interesting to the listener.
I know this sounds extremely harsh but im always honest about these things, i dont know if this is your most recent work (i came upon this track by a topic someone posting it as an example) but if it is study some theory, preferably bach.
ahh totempoles
At first i couldnt make out much, it sounded slightly random but boy is that a wrong thought, i chose to sit it through in respect to your review on one of my tracks and its a great track!, especially with the guitars eventually. I now recognice its a loose melody (on the rhode like bells), in the literal sense, ive done that myself occasionally too and i know very well you always have to get used to these things a bit.
Its like a field of windblown grassland and alot of colorful totempoles. (if i visualise)
Atleast something surreal.
Hope this makes sense. :p
This is good enough to favorite, ill check out your other tracks sometime soon. Greets -cal.
Hey, thanks for the review calamaistr/
much appreciated
not what it could be.
whats with everyone that makes solo piano tracks using 200% reverb, thats not what a real piano sounds like man. Aside from the echo.
It would sound so much better without all that, trust me.
yea i definitely get where your coming from!
i'll definitely keep this in mind next time i write a song because i just went back and lowered it a little and it does sound more natural
thanks for the feed back cala!
du du dududu du
Love the choice of, hmm.. snarelike-snare.
The analoglike bassline sounds slightly dry but np.
I always like the vocalsounds you use throughout your works, its a nice style. :)
I'd have no problem hearing this on an online radiostation.
The deconstructing of the synthlike dulcimer was a nice suprise btw.
Hit me again when you got something new. :)
greets -cal.
Start made me want to review right away
Holy shit guy, why dont you make stuff like this all day long for me to hear? ;)
Its so generic in the good way (atmosphere) :)
and jazzy! and jam, and inyoface-face.
(like the face of 8bit megaman looking at you all serious)
Keep making stuff like this, really. Im even going to fav this :D
Ha ha, glad you liked!
I wanted to make something both simple and catchy, and I think I did that, but I can't resist throwing in complex stuff (for good or bad) into my songs, which is where the solo came into play. :p I do what's fun, and that's making things quasi-jazzy!
I am planning on making more of this styled stuff (I have at least three or four tracks for this project to do!), so I will provide, rest assured.
Thanks for the review~!
ahh
awesome fade into pop, and the subbass was pleasant at the intro.
Im not very technical in the genre but i do apreciate it and this was quite compact, sadly also a bit repetitive on the track continuance.
my opinion
To much, no.. way to much reverb.
And reminds me -alot- of amelie.
Still, im sure you can see going by the score i gave you i dont think its bad at all.
This stuff is pulling you in or something
But it doesnt give the feeling that it all belongs together, nor comes together.
Some submelodies come and go, but the ambience is rather strong.
Cant say i liked the dry snare hits though, and there should be alot more going on as you responded to the fellow below me.
The tunnel thing did make sense anyway.
Greets -cal.
I can see your point with the snare, it doesn't exactly fit. I'll see about fixing that as well as adding more. Thanks for the review!
