one of the best tracks of retro era

But im not sure.. i didnt really think that was the right flute mate, but overall its not bad.. have you tried out other instruments for the main melody?

very enjoyable progressions

Your profile popped up in the underdog topic on forums by symbolcymbal and im a sucker for bit music as people know there, well this is a good start let me tell you.
I do need to say that i cannot stand anything that has to do with the dance genre but in the progressions of this track i can hear thats no issue here.

Ill look trough some more of your work.

yep

you're pretty cool now.

You should make more dnb.

Rig responds:

I plan to!

compositionwise could be improved.

3:43 should have started much sooner, there is that B note i hear troughout the whole track coming back constantly wich is starting to make it dull within the first minute already, if you can change that i think it would improve alot, i can hear you make dance music because though the harmony is fine there is nothing exciting going on in the middleground.

DJ-Chilvan responds:

Thanks for the review! This was one of my hardest pieces of music to compose.
About the B note, I see what you mean, but it's part of the structure (because the two tenor parts play in a "round" plus the brass is another tenor so they are apt to hit that B often). But it was the reverb that caused that, which I just dumbed down now so it should be better.
Thanx for listening!

i remember playing that game

i dont remember this track that much though, but im trusting you. And its not bad anyway, and since someone said you were bombed im going to five you for the heck of it.

Ventovieras responds:

Thank you! I hope you remember Batman Nes game a little, its great! And thank you for defending me! :)

You use the right sounds but

This can hardly be called a melody, its without doubt one of the most boring continuations ive ever heard... its just 4 chords going back and forth.. on.. and on.

not great everywhere

Sadly the harmonies at the 1:00 part dont sound right, also its a bit bland on the melody. But i 'can hear you have potential, im sure if you sit down and try to make something truly original (compositionwise, you need suprise in music especially music based on an era where you had to suprise to be noticed as the instruments were all improvised, the progressions of this piece are much to predictable) you are going to have easy 10s and 5s for me.

But im happy there are more bit composers on ng now. :)

Coffee-Break responds:

Thanks for your review.
I have sent you PM with a proper response. :-)

hmm

its simple, but for such a theme i think its sufficient. I think you made a few pixelducks happy.

Ill check back sometime to see what youll cook up next.

refreshing

I dont give 10's often but this track definately deserves it, it sounds clean and natural and compositionwise i dont hear anything that kills the flow, anywhere.

My compliments.

Some transitions are well placed

But some moments in the melody, especially at the beginning (the high keys) dont seem to fit in, also remind me to much of kingdom hearts.

But its far from bad.

Oh and im one of those people that can keep a steady beat without a metronome to be honest. :p

Ill look at your other piece, i also need to suggest to think of some more decent titles unless you mean something with it that you havent added to your description.
